Hague Fish and Game Club
The Hague Fish and Game Club has 150 members who are active in hunting, fishing, hiking, snowmobiling, and enjoying the many outdoor activitiesoffered by the Adirondacks. The club was reorganized in 1958, but its origins go back to the turn of the century. It organizes many functions during the year including an ice-fishing tournament, a Super Bowl party, a Spring Bluegrass Festival, and Fall Fest. It also participates in the Hague Winter Weekend, the Memorial Day parade, and the Holiday Festival. Each spring, it offers a hunters' safety course held at the clubhouse. A local cub scout pack uses its facility for its meetings. With the support of the Town, the club is growing and meeting the needs of the community.
The Hague Fish and Game Club meets monthly on the third Tuesday of the month at its clubhouse located at 488 West Hague Road at 7:00pm. Check the Monthly Calendar for the exact dates. The 52nd Anniversary Northern Lake George Ice Fishing Tournament will be held on February 26th and 27th. Co-sponsored by the Hague & Ticonderoga Chambers of Commerce, this year's contest looks to be the best ever. There will be four categories of fish: lake trout, salmon, perch and northern pike. Prizes this year will be a combination of merchandise and cash paid out to the top six places in each category. On Saturday, a kids' and novice fishing clinic will be held at the Hague Beach starting at 8am until noon, with a hot dog lunch for all at the completion of the class. Strikemaster ice fishing pro, Shawn Hayes, will be the instructor, and equipment for the first 40 registrants will be provided. There is a $15 entry fee, but kids (16 and under) and seniors (over 65) fish for free! Plan now to attend the lake's premier Ice Fishing Tournament. Registration forms are available at the Hague Market. (Click here to view the flyer for the event.) See you on the hard water!
