Judy Stock: Questioned the money allocated for the ambulance and the 2% tax cap. Supervisor Belden explained that we moved $85,000.00 from the sales tax money to cover the BLS service. We do not need to worry about the 2% cap.
Rudy Meola: He would like to see the Board move more money to offset the County taxes. The town has over a million dollars in surplus. Some of this could be used to lower the County tax.
He also questioned the increase in Sewer Rent in SD#1 from $450.00 for an EDU to $475.00 per EDU and increase to SD #2 from $400.00 to $425.00. Supervisor Belden explained that we need to build the Capital Reserve fund. The replacement parts and chemicals are expensive. Cathy Clark agreed that the escrow role account is too low. She would rather see an increase of $25.00 per year to build the account verse being charged a larger rate due to no reserve fund.
Motion by R. Meola, seconded by R. Gladu to close the public hearing at 6:30 pm. and reconvene to the open meeting. All voting yes. Motion carried.
Motion by E. Frasier, seconded by R. Gladu to adopt the 2012 Budget. All voting yes. Motion carried.
Motion by E. Frasier, seconded by M. Martucci to advertise for the positions of
MEO Full time and Full time laborer at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. Applications due in by November 23. Advertise in the Times of Ti and the Post Star. All voting yes. Motion carried.
Motion by M. Martucci, seconded by R. Gladu to adjourn meeting at 6:40 pm. All voting yes. Motion carried.
Respectfully submitted,
