HAGUE TOWN BOARD

BUDGET WORKSHOP MEETING

OCTOBER 14, 2010

3:00 PM

Supervisor Belden opened the meeting at 3:00 pm

Motion by R. Meola, seconded by M. Martucci to appoint E. Frasier as Acting Clerk for the purpose of recording minutes.  All voting yes.  Motion carried.

There was a lengthily discussion on health insurance.  Motion by R. Meola, seconded by R. Gladu that effective January 1, 2011 all employees who presently receive 100% of their health insurance will pay 5% of their insurance premium, this includes elected appointed and hourly employees.  All employees will receive a 3% increase in pay for 2011.  All voting yes.  Motion carried.

The Town Board discussed the Attorney for the Town retainer. The Board agreed to an increase to $26,000 for the 2011 year.  This retainer will include the attendance at any meeting that he is asked to attend.  Councilman Gladu is not in favor of this.  A letter will be sent to the Attorney stating the Boards decision.

The Town Board agreed that employees need to get authorization to make calls to the Attorney.  The Attorney should contact the Supervisor, Board Members, or Town Clerk when he needs information.

The Town Board decided that notification will be given to parents and Silver Bay Association that Music Camp will not be part of the program that the Town helps finance in the summer.

It was reaffirmed that when an organization request occupancy tax money, the Board wants a budget first and then an accounting after.  Councilmen Gladu and Meola will work on this.  Forms are already available.

Motion by R. Meola, seconded by R. Gladu that effective 2011 sewer bills will be payable:  May & June with out penalty & July with penalty.

All voting yes.  Motion carried.

The next Budget Workshop is scheduled for October 19, 2010 at 3:00 pm.  They will meet with the Highway Superintendent at 2:30 pm.

Motion by R. Meola, seconded by M. Martucci to adjourn meeting at 5:55 pm.  All voting yes.  Motion carried.
