Members present:        Supervisor Belden                   E. Frasier

                                    R. Gladu                                 R. Meola

                                    M. Martucci

Supervisor Belden opened the special meeting at 3:05 pm.

The purpose of the meeting is to inform the American Legion of the plans for the Veterans Memorial Park and to take input from them.  The options are:

·         to remove the building and leave as open space

·         to rebuild the present building

·         to replace the building with a replica using new materials

·         to have a open space with a gazebo.

The Veterans monument will be a granite slab with names of Veterans from Hague on the proposed wall.  At the January 22, 2009 Special Meeting of the Town Board, the Board preliminarily agreed on replacing the building.

Legion members indicated that Jim O’Toole retired brigadier General, is investigating the possibility of acquiring some military equipment which could be included in the monument.

After some discussion it was agreed on holding another meeting at which time the legion would report back with recommendations.

Motion by R. Meola, seconded by E. Frasier to adjourn meeting at 3:45 pm.  All voting yes.  Motion carried.
