Hague Town Board

Special Meeting

October 4, 2007

4:00 pm

Members present:  Supervisor Belden, R. Gladu, E. Frasier, A. Steitz, and M. Martucci.

Also present:  Attorney Dominick Viscardi and ZEO Catherine Clark.

Supervisor Belden opened the special meeting at 4:00 pm.

The purpose of this meeting is for the Town Clerk to present the 2008 Tentative Budget and to discuss the Rental of Single Family Dwellings.

Motion by E. Frasier, seconded by A. Steitz to accept the Tentative 2008 Budget from the Town Clerk.  All voting yes.  Motion carried.  Workshop scheduled for 10/10/07 @ 4 pm

The ZEO explained to the Board that the Code only by Site plan review allows the renting of single family dwelling in zoned areas: HS-R, TR-1R, OC-11R & RT-R.  In all other areas of Hague renting of a single family dwelling is not listed as an allowable use:  HP, TR-1, TR-2, TR-3, OC1, OC11 & RC.

Attorney Viscardi presented the Board with cases files involving rental properties.

The Board would like to form a committee to research different alternatives on renting of single family dwellings.  Upon completion of this the Town Board will hold an Informational Meeting.

Councilman Gladu would like to conduct a survey of what the people want with forms available on line for residents who will not be able to attend the meeting.

Motion by Supervisor Belden, seconded by E. Frasier to appoint Councilman Martucci and Councilman Gladu as Committeemen to review and work on the rental issues in the Town of Hague.  All voting yes.  Motion carried.

The Board approved the ZEO’s request and a member of the Highway Dept. to attend

The North Country Stormwater Tradeshow Conference on October 18, 2007 at the Roaring Brook Resort. 

Supervisor Belden will be attending a conference in Raybrook on grants. 

Motion by A. Steitz, seconded by M. Martucci to adjourn meeting at 4:45 pm.  All voting yes.  Motion carried.
