SPECIAL MEETING
February 1, 2007

Absent: T. LaPointe.
Supervisor Belden called the meeting to order at 4:00 pm.
Motion by A. Steitz, seconded by R. Gladu to authorize Supervisor Belden to enter into an agreement with the Hague Chamber of Commerce. The Town shall pay the Chamber of Commerce a sum of five thousand dollars on the 15th day of February 2007 and the remaining sum of five thousand dollars on the 15th day of August 2007, totaling ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) for the contract year (1/1/2007 – 12/31/2007). A budget of sufficient detail shall be submitted to the Town of Hague in the prior year in the month of September for the ensuing year budget. AYES: Supervisor Belden, A. Steitz, R. Gladu, and E. Frasier. Motion carried.
The Town Board discussed a letter received from the Chamber of Commerce asking for the Town Boards permission to sell beer at the Town Park.
Motion by E. Frasier, seconded by A. Steitz to send a letter to the Hague Chamber of Commerce explaining that due to the Town Park Ordinance and discussions held with the Town’s Insurance Company no alcohol will be allowed at the Town Park during any event. AYES: Supervisor Belden, E. Frasier, A. Steitz, and R. Gladu. Motion carried.
RESOLUTION #36 OF 2007
RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION AND CONGRATULATIONS TO
KATIE HUNTER.
Resolution introduced by E. Frasier, and seconded by A. Steitz.
WHEREAS, Katie Hunter was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, and
WHEREAS, Katie Hunter was an active member of our community having participated throughout her long life in various organizations including the Hague Fish and Game Club, the Warren County Conservation Council and the Hague Winter Carnival, and
WHEREAS, Katie Hunter throughout her life consistently displayed a high level of cordiality, kindness and courtesy, and
WHEREAS, Katie Hunter’s friendliness and sensitivity to young people made her one of our town’s most popular person, and
WHEREAS, Katie Hunter’s story telling capabilities delighted her listeners and made her a valuable resource of the oral history of Hague, and
WHEREAS, Katie Hunter in 2006 was honored as Senior Citizen of the year by the Hague Chamber of Commerce for her lifetime commitment to the Town of Hague, and
WHEREAS, Katie Hunter was born in Hague, New York on February 18, 1907 to Charlie and Mable Conlon and on February 18, 2007 we will be celebrating her 100th birthday, NOW THEREFORE BE IT
RESOLVED, that we the members of the Hague Town Board join all of the citizens of Hague to express our appreciation for your exemplary life and offer you our heartfelt congratulations on this remarkable milestone in your life.
All voting yes. Motion carried.
(Due to Councilman LaPointe being in the hospital, his name will be added to the resolution for Katie Hunter).
Motion by A. Steitz, seconded by E. Frasier to give William O’Leary permission to attend the Basic Operation for Wastewater Treatment Plants class offered at Adirondack Community College. Cost is $400.00. All voting yes. Motion carried.
Motion by A. Steitz, seconded by E. Frasier to give the Chamber of Commerce permission to use the Community Center for the Annual Arts & Crafts show August 4 & 5 of 2007. This has been an annual event since 1973. All voting yes. Motion carried.
Supervisor Belden mentioned that $80,000.00 has been funded from the Dept. of State for the establishment of the Brookwood (Veterans) Park. We have not received any notification on the Sewer grant for Dist. #2 or for the Salt Shed grant.
Supervisor Belden will contact Lisa Nagel, Elan Planners to see if they have everything in place to go out to bid for the Town Park project.
Supervisor Belden will appoint a committee to work on cell towers for this area.
Motion by Supervisor Belden, seconded by E. Frasier to adjourn meeting at 4:40 pm. All voting yes. Motion carried.
