SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING

HIGHWAY PERSONNEL

JANUARY 10, 2006

4:00 PM

MEMBERS PRESENT:  Supervisor Belden, R. Gladu, T. LaPointe, E. Frasier and A. Steitz.

ALSO PRESENT:  Donny Smith, Highway Superintendent.

Motion by A. Steitz, seconded by E. Frasier to open the meeting at 4:00 pm.  All voting yes.  Motion carried.

Supervisor Belden would like to move to executive session to discuss Highway Personnel issues.

Mr. Meola responded that this was not a legal reason to conduct an executive session and read a passage on conducting a executive session in the Open Meeting Law pamphlet.

The Board still felt that the issues that were going to be discussed were warranted for executive session.

Motion by R. Gladu, seconded by E. Frasier to go into executive session at 4:05 pm to discuss Highway Personnel issues.  AYES:  Supervisor Belden, R. Gladu, E. Frasier, T. LaPointe and A. Steitz.  Motion carried.

The Board reviewed the Highway Department with the Superintendent.  The Town Clerk left at 4:20 pm and Councilwoman Frasier acted as Clerk for the recording of minutes.

Motion by E. Frasier, seconded by R. Gladu to return to the open meeting at 4:45 pm. AYES:  Supervisor Belden, E. Frasier, R. Gladu, A. Steitz and T. LaPointe.  Motion carried.

The Board will re-address the 2-hour call-in for the Highway Department. 

The Highway Superintendent has a list of individuals with their CDL, who can be utilized in case of an emergency.  Dan Steitz will be off on disability due to a heart attack.  Donny will cover his position while he is off.  

Motion by R. Gladu, seconded by A. Steitz to adjourn meeting at 5:00 pm.  All voting yes.  Motion carried.
