SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING
June 16, 2005

Members present: Supervisor Belden, R. Gladu, R. Meola, R. Patchett and L. Megow.
Also present: David Martucci, Assessor
Supervisor Belden opened the meeting at 2:30 pm.
A meeting was called to review the action taken at the regular Board Meeting of June 14, 2005 relative to the issue of transition assessment in 2004 on NYS lands.
A letter dated 3/9/2005 was received from Mr. John McDonald, Ticonderoga Superintendent. On the School tax roll 2004-2005 a NYS land assessment increase of $16,507,450 was left off the roll. This resulted in the taxpayers paying $165,783.66 more for that period of time. This amount was treated as a fund balance revenue transfer from the 2004-2005 tax roll and used to offset the tax levy for the 2005-2006 school year.
Motion by Councilman Gladu, seconded by Councilman Megow to rescind the motion of June 14, 2005 in regards to sending a letter to the Ticonderoga School District asking for a refund to the Hague Tax Payers in the amount of $82,500. AYES: Supervisor Belden, R. Gladu, R. Patchett, R. Meola, and L. Megow. Motion carried.
Motion by Supervisor Belden, seconded by R. Gladu to go into executive session to discuss a personnel issue at 4:00 pm. AYES: Supervisor Belden, R. Gladu, R. Patchett, R. Meola, and L. Megow. Motion carried.
The Board reviewed the ZEO’s Job Description prepared by the Personnel Committee. The Committee will finalize the report and present it to the Town Board.
Motion by R. Meola, seconded by L. Megow to return to regular session at 4:30 pm. AYES: Supervisor Belden, R. Gladu, R. Patchett, R. Meola, and L. Megow. Motion carried.
