2.         The Board reviewed and discussed a letter received from Ticonderoga Supervisor Dedrick.  Mr. Dedrick explained that John Breitenbach Jr. and Michael Michaela, two high school students, Hague residents had applied to be counselors for the summer youth program sponsored by Essex County and the Town of Ticonderoga.  Since preference for these positions is given to Essex County resident applicants, the two Hague residents would be hired providing the Town of Hague funded these positions ($925.00) each.

Councilman Meola explained that he the process used by Mr. Dedrick was flawed and that no funds had been budgeted for these positions.  He talked to several other Hague students or their parents, who stated that they were not aware of the vacancies.  Mr. Meola stated that the Town of Hague should fund programs and not individual positions.  He also believes that the $1,850.00 could be used to expand the Hague the Hague summer Program from the current 3 weeks to 4 or 5 weeks this way more than two children would benefit from the money.

The majority of the Board supported the prior motion on 4/13/2004 to fund the Counselor position for John Breitenbach Jr. and Michael Michaela for the summer of 2004.  Next year the Board will review the program at budget time.  Supervisor Belden will contact the Ticonderoga Supervisor making sure that Hague receives information in advance on the job openings in order to advertise in Town.

3.  At the regular Town Board meeting of 4/13/2004 a motion was made to hire Margaret Del Signore as Visitor Center Staff person for the summer without advertising the position. Motion by R.
