INFORMATIONAL MEETING WITH CASELLE WASTE

FEBRUARY 26, 2004

Members present:  Supervisor Belden, R. Meola, L. Megow and R. Gladu.

Absent:  W. Bothe.

 

Also present:  Scott Olsen, Casella Waste.

 

Mr. Olsen reviewed his proposal with the Town Board.

 

The term of the the agreement shall be for one year from the effective date of service and shall be renewed each year for a total of five years.  Renewal will be agreed to by both parties prior to its annual anniversary.

 

Casella Waste will rent the Transfer Station from the Town of Hague for $500.00 per month. 

Casella waste will have their own insurance and will pay all utlity bills associated with the transfer station.

 Casella Waste will pay the Town $100.00 per month to rent the containers and will be responsible for any damage to the backhoe.  Casella Waste will provide the Community Center, Highway Dept., Town Park and Fire Dept. 2 cubic yard containers that will be dumped weekly to compensate for the use of the backhoe.

 

The Hague Transfer Station employee hired by the Town of Hague will be given the opportunity to work for Casella.

 

Bag prices will stay the same:

15 gal:                                     $2.00

30 gal:                                     $3.00

50 gal:                                                 $6.00

Waste:                                     $25.00/yard

C&D:                                      $30.00/yard

Mr. Olsen and the Board will review the Waste per yard.

Recycling with drop off of waste       Free/up to one yard

Recycling without drop off of waste $2.00/yard

 

Yard Waste:                            $9.00/yard

 

FURNITURE:

Matress & Boxspring, stuffed chairs, tables, headboards, couches, bureaus, TV’s.  Mr. Olsen and Town Board will review.

 

APPLIANCES:                      $10.00 each

Freon must be removed from items and tagged.

 

TIRES:

Car (no rims):                                      $4.00/each

Car (with rims)                                    $14.00/each

Pick up Truck (no rims):                      $6.00/each

Pick up truck (with rims)                    $16.00/each

 

HOURS:         Summer July 1st – September 1st (LaborDay)

                        Monday           9 am to 4 pm

                        Wednesday     9 am to 4 pm

                        Saturday          8 am to 4 pm

                        Winter all months except for July and August

                        Wednesday     9 am to 4 pm

                        Saturday          9 am to 4 pm

 

The Town of Hague will still provide services for waste oil.

 

Casella will continue the beautification of the area with flowers and maintain the road going. They will work with the Town on free dump day.

 

Motion by R. Meola, seconded by L. Megow to adjourn meeting at 7:00 pm.  All voting yes.  Motion carried.
